Author Appointed as Judge
By Lawyers congratulates our esteemed Family Law author, Ms Vanessa Leishman, on her appointment to the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
Her Honour graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in 1994, holds a Masters in Applied Law (Family Law), and has practised extensively in family law in both New Zealand and Australia. In recent years Her Honour’s practice focused on trans-Tasman family law.
We are proud that Her Honour was the primary author of the By Lawyers New Zealand family law guides: Dissolution, Relationship Property, Relationship Property Agreements, and Parenting. Her Honour has also contributed to our Practice Management guide, and our Australian family law publications.
The By Lawyers team is lucky to have worked so closely with such a fine legal mind and will miss Her Honour’s abundant experience, insight, and enthusiasm for the law. We have no doubt Her Honour will be an adornment to the bench of the FCFCOA, and we wish her well.
Our subscribers will benefit further from Her Honour’s knowledge and skills with the release of her final By Lawyers guide on Family Violence, scheduled for publication next year.
